A Portland TV station reports that the 31-pound kitty was dropped off at the Humane Society of SW Washington over the weekend after he was found near the Southeast 13th area of Vancouver.
Shelter workers say he's a sweet, friendly guy who just needs to drop a few pounds. They're not sure how long he had been out on the streets.
They say he has lost a few pounds since he showed up at the shelter, and other than his large size he has few health problems.
Shelter workers are hoping the owners will come forward, but if they don't show up in the next few days, the chunky guy will be put up for adoption.
Said Kate Goudshaal of SW Washington Humane, "Because he's so large, his large stature, it makes it very uncomfortable for him to be in a regular kennel situation, because the kennel is essentially too small."
