The Washington State Board of Education this week announced its second annual student video contest.
This year's topic: the important role of math, science, technology and/or career and technical education courses.
If last year's winners are any indication, the competition will be stiff. Vashon High School took first place in the high school category. At the middle school level, the winners were from Oakland Bay Middle School where students clearly have more artistic talent than I do. I particularly liked the honorable mention entry from Redmond High School, especially the "tape" segment at the beginning. If you can't read it, the tape says "We live in a fractured world. I've always seen it as my role as an artist to make wholeness."
Entries must be submitted by Monday, May 2nd. For more about the rules head to the Board of Education website.
Winners in each category are eligible to receive a $75.00 gift certificate for EACH team member.
