Once again Toys For Tots of Pierce County will participate in the Christmas Movie Night on December 1, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Louie G’s Pizza in Fife, WA.

Last year Santa Al and his Elf (Mrs. Santa Al) were there for the children and adults alike.  They will return again this year and once again the movie It’s A Wonderful Life will be shown and then Ms. Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu Bailey, daughter of Jimmy Stewart in the movie, will read The Night Before Christmas with Santa Al.  Autographs will be signed. Then they will join the whole audience to watch the movie!

This event is a charity event which supports Toys For Tots, Northwest Harvest, and Pug Rescue.

Toys For Tots of Pierce County was very busy last year!. Every toy they collected went to the deserving children of Pierce County.  Each year, the toys are carefully counted, packed according to age and gender then the boxes are sealed and wrapped.  Toys For Tots distributed over 54,000 toys in 2012.  The total number of children through DSHS was 27,500.  But, the Marines of Detachment 504, Marine Corps League and Crime Stoppers of Pierce County, who run the Toys For Tots program, also brought toys to the Warrior Transition Battalion children’s Christmas party, the Signing Santa Christmas Party for hearing impaired children and carefully selected toys to the children in Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital that were spending Christmas there.

All the money received during the year is deposited directly into their account at the Toys For Tots Foundation. That way they have funds to purchase toys for children in certain age groups that are hard to buy for i.e. Babies and Teens. They are again partnered with DSHS of Pierce County to distribute the toys throughout Pierce County to children ages 0 -13.  They need new unwrapped toys and/or donations to meet all the needs of all the deserving children. They thank Mr. Art Mallonee for his time and effort in support of Toys For Tots.  For show time and info visit:
