As the KING 5 Community Relations Intern I get the privilege to hear about lots of different local events in our area.  So far, one in particular really caught my eye:  VIP DAY in Seattle Parks!
Yep that’s right, I will be a V.I.P at Lower Woodland for one day with my friends and family.  Volunteer In Parks day (V.I.P) allows me to give back to the park where I grew up playing sports and spending long summer days.

And Lower Woodland isn’t the only park you, your family and friends can volunteer at this Friday, July 20th.

You also have the opportunity to plant new trees, paint benches and clean walking paths at Greenlake Park, Dr. Jose Rizal Park, and Lincoln Park.  Volunteer shifts last from 10am-2pm, with snack, drinks, and all tools provided!
After your long day of work join me and other volunteers at South Lake Union to enjoy great food, live bands and outdoor activities!  KING 5 is a proud media sponsor of this event and encourages everyone to volunteer at one of your favorite parks!

This event is being organized by the Seattle Parks Foundation, dedicated to conserving, improving and expanding the quality of Seattle’s parks, green spaces and programs, and building community support for parks.
