Kent Youth & Family Services (KYFS) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this fall with Passport to Italy, a fundraiser dinner and live auction next Saturday, October 2. To be held at the new Kent Events Center (10120 SE 260th St., Kent, WA 98030), the annual fundraiser kicks off at 6:30 pm with a social hour and silent auction. Dinner begins at 7:30 pm, followed by a brief program and a live auction. This event is the nonprofit’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Kent Youth & Family Services is a nonprofit providing community services to children, teens and families in Kent, Covington and South King County. The agency’s core programs include professional counseling, HottShotts job training, Head Start, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), substance abuse treatment and prevention, afterschool programs, Outreach and Lighthouse, and Watson Manor. In 2009, KYFS served 4,000 children due, in part, to fundraisers like Passport to Italy.
