In less than six weeks, Seattle will host an event to bring the community together for a cause greater than ourselves. Our country has set out on a mission to bring equality through race, sexuality, gender and Parkview Services Walk & Roll for Inclusion aims for equality and awareness for individuals with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities.
Parkview Services has been in the Seattle community for over 40 years creating accessible housing for individuals and families with I/DDs. They’ve evolved over the past four decades to meet the needs of the I/DDs community with the creation of , Capitol Hill Group Home, Parkview Services camps and their Affordable Housing program which provides 52 rental housing for low income people with I/DDs.
On, Sunday, September 16, 2012 Parkview Services will launch the first annual Walk & Roll for Inclusion. Go out and show your support at Volunteer Park in Seattle from ( 8:30 AM -Registration) 10:00 AM - 2:00PM to help raise money to create housing for our family, friends and neighbors with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities (I/DD's)
This FUN event that creates a safe space for people with I/DDs to meet ,talk, laugh ,find commonality ,and work as a team and community to make sure everyone finishes walking or rolling the loops around the park, celebrate the fundraiser. While walking or rolling along the 2- mile course you will see how beautiful and scenic this park really is, the park will be filled with games for kids and live music for the adults.
