Hi, I'm Gabbie Rae (http://gabbieraerocks.com). I am a 15-year-old singer and activist for anti-bullying. I work with Free2Luv (http://free2luv.org), an amazing anti-bullying organization based right here in Seattle. I couldn't be more excited to begin the Rock Your Own Lyrics Tour, our awesome bullying prevention tour, and what's even cooler is that it starts right here in Seattle.
You may be wondering why I am so against bullying. Well, I was bullied myself. I know exactly how it feels to be put down and rejected every day at school. I was bullied for many reasons. One was because I was a singer. Instead of my peers supporting me and my dreams, they were against me. Once I began homeschooling in the middle of 6th grade, and my career started to launch, I realized that I finally had the opportunity to do something about it.
With Free2Luv, I can use my voice to speak out and help others going through bullying. I can’t wait to share my message that every person has the opportunity to be who they truly are and follow their passion. I believe through music we can come together, spread the message that bullying is not ok and find a way to end it. I will always do everything I can to shine a light on this important subject, and I look forward to seeing you at the very first Rock Your Own Lyrics Tour (http://free2luv.org/free2luv-and-p-f-changs-rock-seattle-with-rock-your-own-lyrics-tour/) event. It is a free concert on June 23rd at 2 p.m. at the Westlake Center Plaza. And what’s super cool is anyone who dines at P.F. Chang’s that day; they will be giving a percentage of the proceeds to our tour. Hope to see you all there!
P.S. I almost forgot to mention! The Seattle Storm has invited me to sing at one of their games. Come join me on June 18th at 7 pm for a fun night of basketball and music, too!
