Hello, my name is Dedie Davis I am the Founder and President of a new non-profit organization called Operation Open Arms. I started this organization in honor of my husband Sgt Byron Davis, who has fought for our country several times.
Recently he began a new War here at home dealing with his Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) like so many of our service men and women. My husband entered  a inpatient program for PTSD at the Seattle VA Hospital to assist him in getting the tools needed to combat this disorder. I was there everyday to be a part of this process. During that time I came to understand the extent of sacrifice these Veterans have given for our country, and how some will never be the same again.
Living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is hard, something most of us will never understand. Living with someone who has PTSD can be even harder. We have come along way in unraveling the mystery of this disorder; however we still have a long way to go. We owe it to those who fight for our freedom, in assisting them to lead a healthy life.
We all look forward to the end of this War, as we have done in wars past. However much more needs to be done to be able to take care of our Service Men and Women. With PTSD it is easier to dismiss because the wounds aren’t visible.

I can speak personally how much PTSD affects the families and loved ones who want so desperately to help. Families shouldn’t have to be casualties of war, long after the war has gone. We need more awareness.

Please show your support and join us for our PTSD awareness fundraising event on September 10th from 6:30 – 10:30pm at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, located in beautiful downtown Edmonds. Enjoy tastings from local Wineries and Breweries, along with delicious hors d’ oeuvres. Bid on items in the Silent Auction, while enjoying the amazing sounds of local female artist Dayla Walker and Local Band Big River.
Tickets are $25.00 and are tax deducible.  Space is limited so purchase your tickets today by visiting www.operation-open-arms.com.
