There are plenty of paloozas out there. The city is full of fairs and festivals and fun, but if you haven’t taken your family to PEPSapalooza yet, then you, no doubt, have been feeling like you’ve been missing something. And indeed, you have. Luckily, you have just about one month to redeem yourself. August 17th is the date to circle on your calendar for the fifth PEPSapalooza, but the first at its new location, the Everett Memorial Stadium (aka Everett AquaSox Stadium), just off of I-5.

Prior PEPSapaloozas have been held at the Redhook Brewery Bowl, but PEPSapalooza’s popularity has plumped up the attending population so much, we needed a bigger space. Plus there are plenty of other perks. No longer will there be a dearth of parking or a long trudge to the festival, Everett’s Memorial Stadium has a huge convenient parking lot. For those of you have attended in the past and appreciated the easy drop off/pick up lanes right at the gate, never fear, these will still be provided by PEPS.

What can you expect at the palooza of all paloozas, you ask?

It's hard to know where to begin, but I suppose we should start with the music. Four star-studded kindie rock bands including Seattle favs, Caspar Babypants, Recess Monkey, The Not-Its and new this year hailing from NY, Rolie Polie Guacamole will be performing throughout the event. These groups are guaranteed to keep you laughing, your toes tapping and your kids bopping in the mini mosh pit all afternoon. And the fact that your kids can move during these concerts is one of the best things about the day. They aren’t stuck in a seat, they aren’t cooped up inside, they can run, dance, jump, sing, shout and they will fit right in. Plus you can park your picnic and yourself at a comfortable spot and have great kid visibility in Memorial Stadium’s enclosed grassy area, while they have a little freedom. Win-win!

But that’s not all, there are a dozens of other activities to try. Dizzy’s Tumblebus, Smith Brothers Farm's Dairy Truck, and a Touch A Truck zone will be there to climb on and explore. A Springfree Trampoline and the Aquasox Jump Zone will be ready for bouncing. There will be hair-dos, face painting, glitter, bubbles, hula hoops and juggling, as well as creative hands-on crafts at booths throughout the stadium. For the tiny one’s and new this year Playdate Café is hosting a ‘Baby Zone’ – a safe space for your little one to crawl around and explore.

And, of course, there will be food. The Aquasox Grill will be grilling chicken, burgers and sausage. A vegetarian food option is available at Patty Pan Grill's food stand. You are welcome to pack in your own picnic, but please do not bring in your own alcohol. The AquaSox will have a selection of sodas and several adult beverages for sale.

Tents will be positioned throughout the stadium for shade, but know there is no natural shade. Bring along your beach umbrellas, sunshades, sunblock and spray bottles (this is where that easy drop off lane at the front gates comes in handy!) and get ready for a ton of fun in the sun. The activities are all included with your family admission, which is a great deal if you buy your tickets prior to July 31 (food/drink is extra - bring some cash so you don't miss a minute of the fun!)

Best of all, this event supports PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support), a local nonprofit organization that forms neighborhood based groups for new moms and dads that help parents connect, grow and share information and resources.

So, tell your friends, tell your family, tell that parent you see at the grocery story trying to shop with three kids hanging off their cart.

Come one, come all… PEPSapalooza awaits!
