My name is Bryanna Nelson, the KING 5 Community Relations Intern for fall 2013. One of the driving factors for pursuing this position was the opportunity to get involved with Home Team Harvest. It’s a campaign and cause I truly believe in and am eager to be a part of.

This year KING 5, Northwest Harvest, U.S. Bank and Safeway have set a goal of raising over 4 million meals during Home Team Harvest!  It’s a tremendous goal and success will only be possible with your help. Our many generous donors are the reason Home Team Harvest has been able to meet or exceed its goals for the last 12 years. We hope we will again.

So for the next five weeks my personal goal is to connect you with some of our favorite and most generous characters, to share their motivations, because “every donor has a story.”

Learning why people decided to get involved with Home Team Harvest for the first time and why they want to help everyone here at KING fight hunger in Washington has been a very positive and motivating experience for me.

Throughout the month of November I will publish an article on our KING 5 community blog on Fridays titled, “Every Donor Has a Story.” I hope that you will enjoy reading about the individuals who have made Home Team Harvest a success.

We are very proud to be working with them and as we piece together everyone’s story we will all be able to come together to make a difference right here in Washington.

And make sure to mark your calendars for the main event on December 7th! Stay tuned to see where our donations sites will be and to find out how you can help.
