At the March of Dimes, we are celebrating 75 years of fighting for the health of moms and babies!  Join us tomorrow, February 5th, at the State Capitol as we continue the fight and ask legislators to add Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID or bubble boy disease) to the statewide newborn screening panel.  This is a birth defect where infants are born without the ability to make T-cell to fight infections.  Without early detection, children with SCIDS are at risk for serious illness and  oftentimes death.  Early identification of SCIDS is key, and we hope to add this to the newborn screening panel for all babies in Washington.
