Inspiring hope… Bringing a community together… Getting closer to a cure for multiple sclerosis... You can be a part of all this by joining me when Walk MS 2013 comes to Seattle on Sunday, April 14.
I live with multiple sclerosis myself, and I love participating in Walk MS because it reminds me that in working together, we become a community that changes lives — a community that one day will help find a cure for MS.
The first time I attended Walk MS, I came alone dressed up as Blitz, the Seahawks mascot. I didn’t have a team and I didn’t know anyone, but I left that first event fired up by the incredible love and energy I experienced. The next year I started Team Blitz, and in the four years since then, I have made more connections than I could ever have imagined.
Our combined efforts at Walk MS will help more than 12,000 people throughout the Greater Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society who live with MS — your neighbors, your friends, your co-workers, your family or even yourself. We want to raise $2 million, which will support life-changing programs and cutting-edge research.
MS takes so much from people living with the disease. And every person at the National MS Society works incredibly hard to help those dealing with MS. This year, let’s grow Walk MS together and make it possible for the National MS Society to continue serving everyone affected by this disease.
