KING 5 Television is excited about the opportunity to support this event in 2012. With just one year under its belt, The Seattle Foundation’s GIVE BIG campaign is a proven success. We were blown away by the response in 2011; $3.6 million dollars raised through nearly 19,000 donations. Nine hundred non-profits benefitted from your generosity and we hope even more will be touched this time around.
Nearly half-a-million dollars in additional funding is nothing to ignore either. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of The Seattle Foundation, that money will also be dispersed throughout the day. To learn more, go to the Seattle Foundation’s web site http://www.seattlefoundation.org
This online giving event starts at 12am and lasts 24 hours! We hope you’ll take the opportunity to GIVE BIG!
More from The Seattle Foundation:
It’s easy to search for a nonprofit on the site, or just scroll through the roughly 1,300 that are participating in the project. Local nonprofits include various YWCAs and Woodland Park Zoo, as well as a variety of food banks and schools, among others.
Certain donors will also be chosen at random to have an additional $1,000 given to the charity that he or she donated to.
Seattle was ranked No. 1 in online giving for 2011. Seattle’s average online donation was $124.92 in 2011 – significantly higher than most cities in the U.S.; only seven had averages of more than $100. The national average was $65.
