Every year, the students at Darrington High School plan and raise money for their prom -- the location, the DJ, the photos, the food.  After the devastating landslide in Oso, the community lacked the funds and energy for a big dance. Still determined, someone in town decided to "Get Jesse"  and now the prom is on in a big way!

We don't want to give too much away, but here's a peek at some of the great area businesses who jumped at the chance when KING 5 called and asked for their support of the prom and the Darrington community.

We thank them in advance for their generous donations and look forward to seeing Prom come together!   (It's going to be an AMAZING night)

Shelly Tolo, Tolo Events
"Live event experiences can have an amazing and positive impact on people and organizations. So, in some small way we hope our creativity will help to provide an oasis from the devastation and a truly memorable and exciting Prom for the students. Of course we had to say yes!"

Otto Olson, Otto-Matic Mobile Music
"We are excited to help be a part of the community healing process. Hopefully a night of dancing to their favorite music will help."

Katie Richmond, Men's Wearhouse
"We, at the Men’s Wearhouse, feel it is important to give back to the community, especially in a time of need."

Darryl Miller, Fidalgo Bay Coffee
"Fidalgo Bay Coffee Roasters has a close connection to the Oso community.  Our company serves as local coffee roaster to the people in that area with a weekly delivery route to the Darrington IGA and its espresso stand, as well as The Trafton General Store’s espresso stand.  We’ve always aimed to be a good corporate citizen in our local community, and supporting the Oso mudslide response was an immediate “yes” reaction."

Jeremy Anderson, Vice President of Operations, Metropolitan Grill and Elliott's Oyster House
"We wanted to help out and to let the Oso community and surrounding areas know we cared about them and are standing with them at this tragic time. When we reached out to KING 5 to discuss ideas as to how we might best assist, we were elated to hear about Jesse's dream to give the Darrington High School kids a prom they'll never forget. Thank you for allowing Metropolitan Grill and Elliott's Oyster House to be a part of this wonderful event at such a time of great need."

ABC Event Rentals by CORT
“ABC Special Event Rentals by CORT believes in partnership and support in our community. Every student should have the opportunity to experience their High School Prom. We are proud to help to make sure this happens!”

West Coast Drape/Blush Furniture
"West Coast Drape and Blush Furniture is excited to join in this effort to provide a Prom for the students of Darrington. We're committed to the Pacific Northwest community and we love helping events come alive."

Paul Conrath, Phototainment

"If you can contribute to making someones misery or loss even a bit better.  How could you say no?  I am all in."

Chris Dalgarn, Lifetouch National School Studios, Inc

"Lifetouch gives back to students and families in the communities we serve and around the world. Whether it’s building schools and providing photography in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, partnering with Operation Smile to fund life-changing cleft palate surgeries for children, or helping to ensure a joyful Darrington Prom, it’s important for us to get involved. As an employee-owned company, we decide how and where to give back. Oso and the surrounding community suffered a horrific tragedy. Local Lifetouch employees wanted to pitch in to help bring the "best Prom in Washington State" to Darrington High."

Sara Osborne, Safeway Public Affairs Director

Margo Engberg, Pinkabella Cupcakes
"I said YES because this is what you do when a community needs you! YOU HELP! Every little bit helps!"

Nina Morrison, Talking Rain
"Washington is our home and the citizens of this state are our family. Those who call Oso home have suffered tremendously and we hope that this small gesture will somehow allow the students of Darrington High School to enjoy a very special milestone in their lives."
