The United States Chamber of Commerce and KING TV’s national affiliate, NBC, is bringing its successful jobs program to veterans in Seattle next week. The Opportunity Expo Career Fair is scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd at Safeco Field from 11am-3pm.
Now, more than ever, veterans need our help. The career fair is part of a national campaign driven by NBC to employ soldiers who have returned, or are returning, from servicing our country.
Employers are encouraged to participate in the “Hiring our Heroes” event to give local veterans an opportunity to find work outside of the military.
Employers: Why hire a veteran?
Military personnel possess skills unique to a variety of organizations. They are experienced team mates, are well-trained and already have the required skill set to succeed in numerous industries. Present at the expo, meet face to face with veterans and discover for yourself what they can bring to your business.
Veterans: Why attend the expo?
A variety of vendors and businesses throughout the greater Seattle area will be attending and looking to specifically hire America’s heroes. You’ll have the opportunity to ask employers direct questions and discover the industry or career that will be a perfect fit for your individual skills.
The Opportunity expo will be held Thursday, November 3rd from 11am-3pm at Safeco Field.
Tune in to KING 5 every weeknight at 6pm to watch “Making a Difference” on NBC Nightly News.
