KING 5’s Lori Matsukawa to be recognized by the Seattle Chapter of Japanese American Citizens League.

Lori Matsukawa has been awarded the National Convention Community Achievement Award for her achievements with the JACL, the Nikkei community and overall exceptional community engagement.  In addition to co-anchoring the KING 5 News at 10 and 11pm, Lori volunteers her time to host community events and has served on the boards of many community-based organizations.  She will be presented with the award at a July 6 luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue.

The Japanese American Citizens League was founded in 1929 and is the oldest and largest Asian American Civil rights organization in the United States.  JACL members respond and monitor the civil and human rights of all Americans and seek out ways to positively affect social change, particularly to the Asian Pacific American Community.
