KING 5 News anchor Dennis Bound went over the edge Friday – literally – rappelling down the side of a 40-story building in Seattle.
Dennis walked down the side of a 500-ft. skyscraper on Second Avenue to raise money for the state’s Special Olympics athletes.
Other fundraisers will have the chance to do the same thing Saturday, but Dennis thought he’d show them how it’s done first. But he admits he was happy when his two feet were firmly back on the ground.
"Why did I do it? Actually it was pretty fun. Once you get used to it, get over the building, trust the equipment, it's great,” said Dennis, “although I never really had a chance to look around because I wanted to come down smoothly and not get stuck anywhere."
Dennis said a $1,000 donation pays for what two Special Olympics athletes need all year. To make a donation or for more information, go to the Special Olympics Washington website.
