KING 5 was awarded 27 Northwest Regional Emmys on Saturday night, with 23 going to the station's news department.
John Sharify collected seven Emmys, many for the Mount Rainier Climb special that aired installments throughout much of 2011.
"The awards are a tremendous honor for all of us at KING 5," said news director Mark Ginther. "This is an extraordinary group of people who ... do everyday because they all believe they can make a difference."
