SEATTLE- This Fourth of July  make sure you pack a blanket, coat and a non-perishable food item as you come to Lake Union to watch the fireworks and enjoy the festivities. Northwest Harvest and One Reel have teamed up again for the Family 4th at Lake Union Food Drive. Northwest Harvest is Washington’s own statewide association that provides nutritious food to those in need, while fighting to eliminate hunger. KING5 is a big supporter of Northwest Harvest and encourages everyone to make a donation this Fourth of July.
There are several different ways to make a donation. You can stop by the Northwest Harvest booth at Gas Works Park where you can make your donation and also dunk local Seattle Celebrities in the dunk tank! The booth will be accepting non-perishable food donations along with cash donations. Go to the following link to find a list of acceptable items to donate if you’re not sure what to bring. northwestharvest.org.
Even if you’re not planning on going to Lake Union for the Fourth of July there are other ways you can make your donation. You can simply text “ENDHUNGER" to 80888 to give a $10 donation or donate on- line at the following link. donating online. All the money donated will go towards providing nutritious food to thoes in need across our state and help Northwest Harvest eliminate hunger.
