SEATTLE, June 17, 2013 – KING 5 is basking in the glow of 20 new Emmy statuettes today, following an exciting night at the Northwest Regional Emmy Awards.  The newsroom was awarded top honors in 18 categories spanning Investigative and Feature reporting, Sports, Weather, Photography, Editing and Newscast.  KING 5 was also recognized for its “True Stories” Promotional Campaign and in the category of Community Service for its “Home Team Harvest” food drive.
The 50th Annual Regional Emmy Awards are a presentation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Northwest Chapter and recognizes television excellence in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.  Competition was tough across the board, but KING’s total number of wins was greater than any other station in the region.
