SEATTLE — Memorial Day is usually billed as the first holiday weekend of summer, but in the Pacific Northwest, it is better known for the generous use of rain gear at festivals and blue tarps for camping.
We started the weekend with rain, but will end with some spectacular sunshine.
High pressure is building, and we should clear out to a partly to mostly sunny sky, with highs back into the mid-70s for Memorial Day.
Sunshine and warm temperatures on the holiday may last through next week. A nice way to end the month of May.
