No delays at Sea-Tac after Atlanta airport power outage

A major power outage in Atlanta caused flights nationwide, to and from Hartsflield-Jackson -- the world's busiest airport -- to be delayed or canceled.

All is well again at Sea-Tac after a power outage at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport canceled or delayed at least seven flights between Seattle and Atlanta Sunday.

An underground fire at a Georgia Power substation caused the outage around 12:55 p.m. eastern time.

By 5:30 p.m. Seattle time, Sea-Tac Airport reported seven canceled arriving and departing flights between Seattle and Atlanta. Other flights were delayed as much as three hours. Check your flight status.

Airports nationwide reported the same. Hartsfield-Jackson is considered the world's busiest airport.

Georgia Power restored electricity to Atlanta’s international airport just before midnight eastern time Sunday. The first flight departed from Atlanta about an hour later.
