This week KING 5 is driving some of the worst commutes in Western Washington, sent to us by viewers.

Todd and Sara Miller are married and live in Lake Stevens. They carpool down State Route 9 to the Eastside daily. Sara works in Redmond; then Todd continues to south Bellevue.

They say the trip takes between an hour and an hour-and-a-half most days, but some days it’s even uglier than that.

“On a really bad day, we’re looking at two-plus hours for me,” said Todd Miller. “I’ve been doing this so long that I’m kind of just immune to it at this point. I know it’s going to take me awhile to get to work, but we’ve got company and the music.”

His wife Sara said they like the area and it’s worth the terrible traffic, especially in the middle of the week.

“We just put up with it,” she said. “We absolutely plan to leave earlier on Tuesdays, no matter what… and if we’re pleasantly surprised, great, but I can’t recall the last time we were pleasantly surprised on a Tuesday."
