Kitsap Transit says fast-ferry sailings are overbooked at certain times in January due to a glitch that occurred when reservations opened.
The main concerns are with the 6:45 a.m. sailing from Bremerton to Seattle, and the 5:10 p.m. sailing from Seattle to Bremerton.
Kitsap Transit is asking anyone to cancel the reservations they do not plan to use, and they are offering tickets on the Washington State Ferries to the first 30 volunteers who give up their same-day reservation on the 5:10 p.m. sailing.
The fast ferry usually holds 118 passengers. Kitsap Transit normally caps the reservations at about 90, leaving room for about 30 walk-ons. But because of the glitch, they probably won't have room for walk-ons.
Kitsap Transit advises all reserved customers to arrive more than 10 minutes early to confirm their reservation.
If you have questions or need further assistance with your reservation, Kitsap Transit asks that you call their customer service line at 1-800-501-RIDE or email email@example.com.
