SEATTLE – At the ferry dock in West Seattle, some travelers arrived expecting a long wait.
“You mentally prepare for it, you know. I knew I wasn't going to get on the first ferry,” said Hannah Martin.
Martin and friend Natalie Abel left work early to start their long holiday weekend, and they quickly noticed many others had the same plan. They had to wait more than an hour to catch a ferry.
“You get here as soon as you can, and you hope for the best,” said Abel.
For those not driving to their destination, arriving early at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport proved to be a good idea.
“It’s a day of lines,” said one traveler.
One bus driver said Wednesday was shaping up to be better than Tuesday because traffic did not appear to be as bad.
“Yesterday I was 40 minutes late. Today I was right on the money,” he said.
