It's going to be one of the best Saturday snow-days all season at The Summit at Snoqualmie, with one of the worst scenarios inside the lodge.

After a water leak was detected in the district's pipe system, everyone who lives and works at the pass is now under a boil water notice.

"It's very unfortunate and pretty frustrating, not just for us but for the entire community up here," said spokesperson Guy Lawrence.

It means the lodges will not be able to prepare food on site. People will also have to buy bottled water. The only food available will be pre-packaged.

It won't affect the lifts, however, and the snow sports conditions should be great until rain returns Sunday.

"Anyone who's up here that I've talked to is coming down smiling, high-fiving and just elated," Lawrence said. "In a mountain environment, we go through a lot of crazy things, and you have to roll with the punches."
