Snohomish Co. students recount D.C. ‘March for Our Lives’

The students were in 8th grade during the 2014 Marysville Pilchuck High School shooting

Five students from Snohomish County recount their whirlwind trip to Washington D.C.’s ‘March for Our Lives’ this past weekend.

“I’m just kind of overwhelmed still at the amount of people that were there,” said Bailey Thoms, a student who helped organize the trip. “I couldn’t see the beginning and I couldn’t see the end of the crowd when we got there and we got there two hours early.”

She and four other students talked to KING 5 photojournalist Dave Wike when they returned from the east coast.

The interview aired on KING 5’s The Sound Podcast.

The students were in 8th grade during the Marysville Pilchuck 2014 high school shooting, so they knew some of the students there that day.

Thoms told KING 5 she feels the Parkland students are helping the world understand what schools like Marysville Pilchuck went through.
