The Seattle Seahawks returned to practice Thursday to prepare to face the division-rival San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Cornerback Richard Sherman appeared on the Wednesday and Thursday practice reports as a non-participant with a hamstring injury. Defensive coordinator Kris Richard was asked about Sherman’s status during his Thursday press conference.

“I said, we are just being cautious with him,” Richard explained. “We’ll see whether or not he is going to be available. I know he is preparing as if he is and he will be available. I think it’ll be coach’s decision.”

Sherman often takes veteran rest days for various injuries but has never missed a game. Asked what he would do if Sherman was unavailable Richard said, “I’m not even considering it. It’s never happened here.”

Linebacker K.J. Wright, who also sat out practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, returned on Thursday in a limited fashion.
