Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Ethan Pocic has been named to the Professional Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team. Pocic is the only Seahawks rookie to make the list.
Pocic was selected by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2017 draft out of Lousiana State University. Mostly a college center, Pocic was initially tested around Seattle’s line, also taking reps at both tackle and guard.
Starting the season as a backup, Pocic later stepped up to fill in for left guard Luke Joeckel after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during the team’s bye week. When Joeckel returned, Pocic shifted over to the right guard spot, where he remained for the rest of the season.
Pocic started 11 of 16 games played his rookie year.
Two other Seahawks were honored by the PFWA this season. Linebacker Bobby Wagner was named to the PFWA’s 2017 All-NFL team for his second-straight year and free safety Earl Thomas got the nod for the All-NFC squad.
