The Seattle Seahawks have been working diligently to rebuild their coaching staff since parting ways with seven assistants at the end of the season.

The newest addition to the staff is Larry Izzo, who will replace Heath Farwell as the assistant special teams coach, according to Alex Marvez of the Sporting News.

Izzo spent 14 years in the NFL as a player and stand-out special teams member, eight of those years with the Patriots. Upon retirement, Izzo branched into coaching, first with the Giants as an assistant special teams coach, then with Texans the last two seasons before his firing.

Farwell left the Seahawks for the Panthers – and a change of scenery – earlier this month of his own volition and was not a casualty of the mass firings.

To date, Seattle has replaced its offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, defensive coordinator, assistant defensive line coach – and according to Thursday’s report – its assistant special teams coach.
