NFL and Jacksonville Jaguars officials are working jointly to attempt to identity the fans who threw objects on the field during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, one of which sparked Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson’s attempt to climb into a seating area.

NFL spokesperson Joe Lockhart told reporters on a conference call Monday that a review of fan conduct at EverBank Field was underway. Jaguars spokesperson Tad Dickman told USA TODAY Sports in an email that team and league security officials along with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office were reviewing video footage to pinpoint the fans involved.

“The home team does have responsibility for security and we work closely with all 32 clubs on those issues,” Lockhart said. “We are going to be be looking into it and talking to both clubs about a variety of things out of that game, practically at the end when we had a series of ejections, on-field issues, and (Jefferson) leaving the field.”

Jefferson, who has been ejected moments earlier, was headed toward the locker room when an object flew just over his head. After he took off his helmet and walked toward the stands, a drink was tossed in his direction. Jefferson broke from sideline security and attempted to climb into a seating area before he was restrained.

"I'm not going to let somebody disrespect me, throw a beer on me," Jefferson said after the game. "Just because I'm playing football, I'm still a human being. I'm still a man."

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Melissa Bujeda told USA TODAY Sports that no police report had been filed stemming from fan conduct at Sunday’s game.

Dickman said a joint statement would likely be released later Monday after a review of the footage had been completed.

Seattle defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson was ejected a play prior to Jefferson for throwing a punch as the Jaguars killed the clock to secure a 30-24 victory. Jacksonville running back Leonard Fournette and Seahawks lineman Michael Bennett received unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Lockhart said the NFL’s football operations personnel were in the process of reviewing the on-field transgressions along with Jefferson’s attempt to enter the stands, which could result in fines and suspensions.

Lockhart said there’s “nothing to report at this point” in terms of punishments.
