Ricardo Lockette is all smiles at the Geekwire Summit in Seattle Tuesday, talking about his personal grit.
The former Seahawks wide receiver admitted he thought he might die after a brutal hit during last year’s Cowboys game. At the same time, Lockette found his purpose in life.
“I'm just happy be alive, happy to be here," Lockette said. "I'm just happy to have another day to affect other people’s lives in a positive manner."
Lockette’s back in Seattle helping the Seattle Science Foundation, and starting his own charity, which are both attempting to help spinal research.
Lockette said it’s just another chapter in his story.
“That's what we have to do in life,” Lockette said. “Overcome obstacles and figure it out.”
