The Seattle Seahawks' may have lost Richard Sherman for the season, but their win Thursday helped get them back into the playoff picture if the season ended today. But despite that, they didn't gain ground on the league's frontrunners. Let's start in the NFC West, where the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 22-16 Thursday night.

That was followed by the division-leading L.A. Rams throttling the injury-depleted Houston Texans 33-7.

And the San Francisco 49ers finally got a win, beating the New York Giants 31-21.

With that, here are the updated NFC West standings.

Rams 7-2

Seahawks 6-3

Cardinals 4-5

49ers 1-9

But remember that the Seahawks have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams, and the two play again next month in Seattle.

Now to the rest of the NFC.

The Philadelphia Eagles, with the best record in the league, had their bye week. They face the Seahawks Dec. 3.

Maybe the most surprising team this season remains the New Orleans Saints. After an 0-2 start, they have won seven in a row including Sunday's embarrassment of the Buffalo Bills, 47-10.
