The next State Auditor will walk into an office that’s been filled with turmoil over the past year, an office held currently by Troy Kelley, who faced a federal fraud trial this year. While jury deadlocked on most of the charges and the allegations did not involve his work at the auditor’s office, the office has been affected none the less.
The candidates running to replace him are Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy, a Democrat, and State Senator Mark Miloscia of Federal Way, a Republican.
