Iconic American comedian Jerry Lewis died Sunday in Las Vegas at the age of 91.

"Legendary entertainer Jerry Lewis passed away peacefully today of natural causes at 91 at his home with family b his side," his family said in a statement to writer John Katsilometes.

He was known for his work with Dean Martin in the 1950s and for his roles in The Bellboy and The Nutty Professor. Lewis was also known for his work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He hosted the annual Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy telethon until 2011, and raised more than $2.45 billion during his time there.
