A 15-year-old Poulsbo boy was booked into Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Center on Friday after a car he was driving crashed into Liberty Bay.
Kitsap County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the water near the 17200 block of Lomolo Shore Drive just after 6 a.m. Friday, according to Deputy Scott Wilson.
The vehicle, a 1990 Ford Taurus, was being driven southbound on Lomolo Shore Drive. A witness reported seeing the Taurus come around a curve at high speed, lose control and leave the roadway.
The Taurus flipped and crashed through two docks before coming to rest in Liberty Bay, Wilson said.
Two other underage Poulsbo residents were in the car with the driver, who is too young to have a driver's license. Deputies found all three standing on the road.
None of them suffered major injuries.
A deputy determined the teen driver was likely under the influence of cannabis.
The driver consented to a blood test and was booked into juvie on suspicion of driving under the influence, Wilson said.
