SEATTLE -- The Alaskan Way Viaduct and the State Route 520 floating bridge will both be closed this weekend.

The SR 520 closure will be from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. WSDOT contractor crews need to finish paving work on Montlake Boulevard, restripe the new floating bridge, and work on tolling equipment.

The viaduct will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Spokane Street and the Batter Street Tunnel for its semiannual inspection.

There will also be a closure of SR 99 between the Battery Street Tunnel and Valley Street between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

The good news for drivers trying to get around Seattle is the Seahawks are on a bye week, the Mariners season is over, the Huskies are on the road, and the Sounders don't play this weekend.
