Shoreline High School students will wear plaid on Thursday in honor of a teen who was struck by a semi-truck near the school.
Students posted on social media that they planned to wear plaid to show a sign of unity and togetherness.
The 14-year-old bicyclist was traveling westbound on the sidewalk of North 175th Street on Wednesday morning when the collision happened.
The semi-truck was turning north onto Aurora Avenue North in Shoreline when it hit the boy.
The teen, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is in critical condition.
He is expected to survive, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.
