A Tacoma police officer was shot and killed Wednesday while responding to a domestic violence call.
Since 1985, three of the four previous Tacoma Police officers killed in the line of duty were also responding to calls involving domestic violence.
January 24, 1985 - Officer Craig Nollmeyer was shot and killed while trying to break up a fight between a man and his wife.
October 25, 1986 - Officer Larry Walker was accidentally shot by his partner who was struggling with a knife-wielding man who was trying to kill his wife.
