Skeletal remains were found Sunday morning in a wooded area outside of Rainier.
The Thurston County Sheriff's Office says someone riding an ATV discovered the remains around 11 a.m. Officials determined the remains to be human and were "at the location for some time."
The site of the remains is near the 11000 block of State Route 507.
No information regarding the person's identity has been released yet.
