A suspected DUI driver who hit six vehicles near Seattle's Alki Beach Tuesday night was taken into custody by police.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. in the 2300 block of Alki Ave. Southwest in West Seattle.

Seattle Police say the car slammed into several vacant parked cars along Alki Avenue. One of those vehicles rolled on its top and into the front yard of a house. Another vehicle traveling the opposite direction was also hit in the crash.

Officers said the driver reported no injuries. There was a female passenger in the car as well.

After a field sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody.

Police closed Alki Ave. Southwest at 53rd Avenue Southwest briefly for the investigation and cleanup.
