SEATTLE -- A missing woman's husband is blaming an internationally renown beer company for impeding the search for his wife.
Jenny Chen, of Seattle, disappeared during a backpacking trip across Mexico in April.
According to her husband, Jonathan Reinhard, she was last seen getting into a Corona beer 16-wheeler close to Juchitan, Oaxaca on April 12th. Chen was supposed to meet Reinhard in Cancun but she never showed up.
After filing police reports and trying to enlist the help of embassies, Reinhard hired a private investigator to track his wife's route. Reinhard says the investigator found witnesses who saw Chen hitch a ride with a Corona beer truck, but Corona refuses to provide any information about the driver.
Corona's parent company is Grupo Modelo.
Reinhard says the search for Chen is complicated by the fact that she is not a U.S. citizen, so he cannot enlist the help of the U.S. State Department. Chen is a citizen of China.
