A 37-year-old man was injured in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday afternoon in Renton.

Police were trying to serve a felony warrant in the 12800 block of 163rd Avenue Southeast in the Renton Highlands when the wanted man fired at two Department of Corrections officers and a Seattle Police detective.

One of the DOC officers and the detective returned fire. The officers were not injured.

The suspect was taken to Harborview and is recovering after surgery.

The three officers are part of the ATF Puget Sound Regional Crimes Task Force, but the incident was not part of a federal investigation or operation.

Both officers who fired their weapons have been placed on administrative leave.
