Local firefighters are spreading some happiness this holiday season. They kicked off their annual "Toys for Joy" event Friday night in Kent.
Firefighters and community members gathered to wrap donated toys. Those toys are then given to food banks and outreach programs in Kent, Covington, and SeaTac.
"Wrapping gifts in general is very therapeutic and knowing that it's going to somebody that doesn't have much, it feels great," said Tiffany Nguyen, volunteer gift wrapper.
Another wrapping party will be held on December 19th.
Last year, they wrapped 6,000 toys.
