Several area studios are offering free self-defense classes over the next two weeks to honor the mission of a woman who survived an assault.
It’s been one year since a known sex offender attacked Kelly Herron in a public restroom. Fortunately, Herron had taken a self-defense class just a few weeks prior and managed to escape the attacker.
Herron has since made it her mission to encourage and empower women to educate and prepare themselves for any situation.
For the second year, she’s partnered with RealSelf and Fighting Chance instructor Jordan Giaratano to host a free self-defense class for the public.
While her class is full, several instructors in the Puget Sound area will offer free self-defense classes to honor her story. Participants will learn how to recognize potential dangers and how to defend themselves safely and effectively.
Stop waiting! The time is now to take the first step.
