A truck driver is dead after a semi truck crashed in the northbound I-5 express lanes Thursday night.
A second person was hurt by flying debris from the collision. That person is being treated for minor injuries.

The crash blocked the lanes near Mercer Street overnight.
The crash may have caused structural damage on the freeway. The Washington State Department of Transportation is investigating to make sure the road is safe.

Seattle fire tweeted out photos of the crash shortly after they reached the trapped driver.

Shortly after that, troopers confirmed one person had died.

The roads were wet at the time of the crash.
