MONTESANO, Wash. - Two children were airlifted to Harborview Medical Hospital when the driver of their car fell asleep and crashed into a tree.

The crash happened Saturday morning along State Route 107. Washington State Patrol says the driver fell asleep before the car slid off the road and struck a tree.

Six children and two adults were injured in the crash. The ages of the children ranged from 11 months to 12 years.

At least four of the passengers were not wearing seatbelts, including the two children airlifted to the hospital.
