A SeaTac high school student was arrested Monday after bringing a handgun to school.
The Tyee High School student posted photos on social media over the weekend of him with a weapon, according to King County Sheriff’s Office. He did not make threats towards students or the school.
School security searched the student when he arrived at school Monday morning, and security recovered a weapon.
Tyee High School was put on lockdown while security searched the school for a friend of the student arrested “out of an abundance of caution,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Security determined the student’s friend was not on campus, and the lockdown was lifted.
