Police in Burien are searching for two suspects, possibly in a red Toyota Matrix, wanted in connection with a robbery and shots fired Wednesday afternoon.

Jacob Ombac, 13, was the target of the robbery. He has several scrapes and bruises after his encounter with the suspects who were after his $800 leather backpack.

Jacob says he was walking home from school when the suspects pulled up in a car, and one jumped out.

"He runs toward me, and he's yelling, 'give me your backpack. Give me your backpack.' He puts the gun right to my chest," said Jacob.

He said he tried to push the weapon away.

"We fall to the floor. We are struggling. We are wrestling there for a little bit, and the gun goes off," Jacob explained.

He says the man pulled the trigger, but no one was injured. Then a second man got out of the car. They grabbed Jacob's backpack and cell phone before driving away.

Jacob's dad, Edwin Ombac, received a call just after 3 p.m. about the armed robbery and rushed to the scene.

"I saw that Jacob was okay, but it is still just a shock that here in Burien that would happen," said Edwin.

The incident occurred in the 15700 block of 1st Avenue. Officers are conducting an ongoing search in the area. Right now, investigators do not have an official suspect description, but they do say the two men drove off in a red car that had no license plate.

The robbery occurred less than a while away from another violent incident that sent two men to the hospital after they were attacked by two men wielding a machete. That attack occurred only a few hours after Jacob was targeted.
