Dinner and a movie is nice, sure, but show your date what really makes you stand out from the rest. Skip the movie, and bring them to Century Ballroom instead. This Capitol Hill dance studio is housed in two venues on the second floor of the Odd Fellows Temple, which was built back in 1908. Whether you enjoy tango or waltz, tap or bachata, Century Ballroom has the class for you and your partner. Enjoy a spin across the sprung wood floors and grab a bite to eat at their restaurant, The Tin Table, located right across the hall.
Century Ballroom was founded in 1997 as a way to promote social dancing, or "partner dancing," of all kinds. They offer a plethora of classes in a wide variety of different dance styles, among them salsa, tango, tap, waltz, west and east coast swing, lindy hop, and bachata. You can register for their series classes and private lessons online. You can also check out their events calendar for information on nightly dances and drop-in intro classes.
